You absolutely need a proper fitting boot to enjoy this sport.

Note: it's better to size down than size up because a boot with too much room can cause blisters.

Choosing the right size cross-country ski boots is crucial for your comfort, performance, and prevention of injury.

Let SENDY help you determine the correct size:

Understand Sizing Systems: cross-country ski boots are typically sized using the European (EU) sizing system. Know your EU size, as it might differ from your regular shoe size. Most manufacturers provide size conversion charts to help you translate your US or UK shoe size to EU sizes.

Foot Measurement: measure your foot length by standing on a piece of paper and marking the longest point (heel to toe) in centimeters. Foot width can also impact boot fit, so measure the widest part of your foot.

Try Them On: wear the socks you plan to use while skiing when trying on boots. Thicker socks will change the fit. The boot should feel snug but not too tight. Your toes should be able to wiggle slightly. The heel should remain in place without lifting when you walk. Properly lace or buckle the boots and stand up. Check for any pressure points or areas that feel too tight.

Consider Boot Type and Use

Classic Skiing Boots: are usually softer & more flexible, offering more             room for movement.

Skate Skiing Boots: are generally stiffer for better support and power transfer.

Combi Boots: are a hybrid offering features for both classic and skate skiing, requiring a fit that balances comfort and support.

Manufacturer Guidelines: each brand might have slight variations in sizing. Check the manufacturer’s sizing guide for specific recommendations. Brands like Salomon, Fischer, and Rossignol provide detailed charts and guidelines.

Test and Comfort:spend time walking around in the boots to male sure they’re comfortable. Bend your knees and mimic skiing motions to check for comfort and support during these movements.

Expert Advice: consult a ski shop expert. They’ll provide insights and help you with fittings, especially if you have unique foot shapes, high arches or flat feet.

Return Policy: check the return policy of the store or brand. If possible, buy from a place that allows returns or exchanges after trying the boots at home.

Follow these steps and you’ll find the right size cross-country ski boots. Remember, Comfort is key!
